Southend Makes Music

ThePalace Theatre in Westcliff was alive with the sound of music as over 900 young people from 29 schools and youth organisations across the city came together for the annual Southend Makes Music event. This celebration of local people talent was held every evening from the 3rd to 7th March. It was a vibrant showcase of bands, choirs, and instrumentalists performing in a wide range of musical styles, highlighting the incredible talent and enthusiasm of the Southend community.

The Worshipful The Mayor of Southend-on-Sea, Cllr Ron Woodley, who attended Monday’s performance, said ‘’Last night’s Southend Makes Music concert at the Palace Theatre was a truly inspiring event. It was wonderful to see the incredible talent and enthusiasm of students from schools across our city. Their performances were a testament to the vibrant and creative spirit of Southend-on-Sea. I am immensely proud of our young musicians and grateful for the dedication of their teachers and families.”

The event was organised by Music on Sea, the Music Service for Southend City Council, which is a key partner of the Greater Essex Music Hub. This annual event continues to be a cornerstone in promoting musical education and fostering a sense of community among young musicians in Southend.
